What a Sequence Valve Does
Some hydraulic circuits need order. Clamp first, then drill. Press first, then eject. Conveyor indexes, then the next part drops.
You can do this with a PLC and a solenoid valve. That works. But it adds cost, wiring, programming, and failure points.
Or you can use a sequence valve. It senses pressure. When the primary circuit reaches the set pressure, the valve opens. The secondary circuit gets oil. No PLC. No solenoid. No programming. Just pressure.
The S15A1 series hydraulic sequence valve is that valve.
Oil enters the inlet. A spring holds it closed. The spring preload sets the opening pressure. Below that pressure, the valve stays shut. Above it, the valve opens. Oil flows to the secondary circuit. Drop below the set point, the spring closes it again.
Turn the adjustment screw on top. Tighten it, the valve opens later. Loosen it, it opens sooner. That is how you set it.

How to Install and Set It
Mount it to a subplate. Standard ISO 4401 pattern.
The adjustment screw is on top. That is how you set the opening pressure.
Back the screw out, the valve opens earlier. Less spring force. Lower cracking pressure.
Screw it in, the valve opens later. More spring force. Higher cracking pressure.
There is no gauge on the valve itself. You need a pressure gauge on the inlet side to set it accurately. Slow pressure rise. Watch the gauge. The valve opens when the pressure hits the set point. That is your number.
Set it once. It stays. The locknut holds it. No drift. No creep.
How These Are Made
Casting
Raw castings come in. We check them for porosity. Bad ones get rejected.
Machining
We bore the body, drill the mounting holes, cut the sealing surfaces. The spool and seat get ground to size.
Cleaning
Everything goes through the wash. Chips and cutting fluid come off.

A: It holds. There is a locknut on the adjustment screw. Tighten the locknut after you set the pressure. Vibration will not move it. If it moves anyway, the locknut was not tightened.
