SV/SL Pilot Operated Check Valve for Load Holding
A new pilot-operated check valve from Laiye aims to solve a familiar problem in load-holding circuits. The issue: a standard check valve holds a load in place, but it also blocks the return path, making controlled lowering difficult.
The problem with standard check valves
In lifting applications, the load needs to stay put when the directional valve is centered. But when the operator wants to lower it, the check valve prevents oil from returning. Often, an external bleed valve or extra circuit is required-adding cost and complexity.
How the SV/SL works
The SV/SL Series adds a pilot port to the check valve. When pilot pressure is applied, an internal piston pushes the poppet off its seat. This opens the reverse flow path, allowing the operator to lower the load using the same directional valve.
