80 L/min - what that actually means for your machine

80 L/min is not a random number. It tells you what this valve can do.

At 80 L/min, a 50 mm bore cylinder extends about 40% faster than with a 40 L/min valve. A hydraulic motor turns about twice as fast. Cycle times drop noticeably. That's the difference between the P80 and the P40.

If your machine has larger cylinders, attachments that need more flow, or simply needs to move faster, 80 L/min is the step up. Loaders, telehandlers, larger tractors - that's where the P80 belongs.

The P80 is a monoblock directional valve. One piece of cast iron, machined with integrated channels. No seals between sections, no tie rods, no assembly bolts. Move the lever, the spool shifts, oil goes where it needs to go.

Maximum pressure: 250 bar. Temperature range: -40°C to +80°C. Viscosity: 15 to 75 mm²/s.

Three questions to decide if this is the right valve

Most people who look at the P80 are trying to solve one of three problems. Which one is yours?

Question 1: Is 40 L/min too slow?
Time your current cycle. If the cylinder takes more than a few seconds to extend or retract at full pump flow, you're flow-limited. The P80 gives you twice the flow of the P40. Same pump, faster movement.

Question 2: How many functions do you need?
The P80 comes with 1 to 7 sections. Each section controls one function - one lever per cylinder or motor. Count your functions. Order that many sections. No extra, no waste.

The trade-off: monoblock is cast as one piece. You can't add sections later. If you need that flexibility, you'd need a sectional valve. But if you know what you need upfront, monoblock is simpler and more reliable.

Question 3: What is your typical load cycle?
At 80 L/min, the valve handles medium-to-heavy loads - loader buckets, telehandler booms, tractor implements. If your application is light-duty or intermittent, the P40 may be enough. If you're running production cycles all day, the P80 reduces cycle time and keeps operators productive.

What makes this valve different from a sectional valve

A sectional valve is built from multiple pieces bolted together. Each joint has seals that can leak. Each tie rod needs torque. It's flexible - you can add sections - but it's more complex.

The P80 is monoblock - a single casting. No seals between sections, no tie rods, no assembly bolts. Fewer leak paths. Simpler installation. Less maintenance.

The cost of that simplicity is inflexibility. You can't add sections later. But if you know your requirements upfront, monoblock gives you fewer things to go wrong.

Installation - what you need to know

Mounting: Bolt it to a flat, clean surface. The cast iron body is rigid - over-torque the bolts and the body distorts, binding the spools.

Port connections: Standard markings - P is pressure, T is tank, A and B are working ports. Confirm your circuit matches before tightening.

Flushing: Flush all lines before connecting. Contamination is the number one cause of spool sticking. A clean system makes a happy valve.

Lever operation: The lever should move smoothly with moderate effort. If it feels stiff, check for mechanical obstruction first. If the lever feels fine but the actuator doesn't respond, the spool may be stuck - work the lever back and forth to free it.
