Products Description
Two displacements, same mounting pattern
When you are building a range of loaders with different bucket sizes, you often need two different pump flows, but you do not want to redesign the mounting brackets. The CBG series gear pump is structured around this logic. We offer it in 32 mL/r and 45 mL/r. Both pumps bolt onto the same flange, use the same shaft keyway, and align with the same hose patterns. If you switch from a 32 to a 45 to speed up your cylinder cycle times, the installation process stays the same. This keeps your prototype phase efficient.
How the shaft and coupling interact
The drive end uses a Φ25 plain key shaft with an 8 mm keyway. This is a very common profile on agricultural and compact construction equipment. The shaft protrudes 50.5 mm beyond the mounting face. That length is enough to slide the coupling on without the coupling rubbing against the bearing cover, but it does not leave a lot of extra room. If you are using a custom coupling, measure the clearance carefully before welding the bracket in place.
Port arrangement and hose clearance
The flanged ports are positioned on the same side of the pump body. The inlet port is the larger one, with a 25 mm bore, and uses a 52 mm bolt spacing. The outlet has an 18 mm bore with a 48 mm bolt spacing. Both are secured with M10 bolts. This arrangement means that the suction and pressure hoses can be routed in parallel, which is helpful when the pump is mounted in a tight engine compartment alongside other components.
Operating Characteristics
Pressure rating that covers the common range
The pump is rated for 16 MPa of continuous duty and can handle short peaks up to 20 MPa. This pressure range is common for medium-sized excavators and wheel loaders. It is enough to lift a loaded bucket without pushing the pump body to its limits.
How it behaves at different engine speeds
The rated speed is 2200 r/min, and it can run up to 2500 r/min. The pump maintains ≥90% volumetric efficiency across this range. In the field, this means that when the operator throttles up to start moving, the flow increases predictably without a sudden loss of power or excessive heating of the oil.
Dimension planning for the longer pump
The 45 mL/r pump has larger gears, so its housing is longer. The CBG1032 has an overall length of 158 mm; the CBG1045 extends to 168 mm. The 10 mm difference may not seem like much until you are fitting the pump under a low hood. We have seen cases where the intake manifold or a coolant hose ran just millimeters away from the pump face. Measuring the L and L1 dimensions before ordering saves a last-minute bracket modification.

Where We Often See These Installed
On wheel loaders and small excavators
In the 1.5 to 3.0-ton range of wheel loaders, the CBG1032 is the pump we supply most frequently. Its 32 mL/r flow matches the standard cylinder size for bucket lift and tilt, and it gives the operator a predictable speed when loading. When the loader steps up to a heavier bucket, the CBG1045 is used instead to shorten the cycle time.
On agricultural tractors with front loaders
The CBG series gear pump is also common on agricultural tractors equipped with front-end loader attachments. The 16 MPa pressure handles the lifting of heavy pallets or bales, and the cast iron body holds up well against the dust and debris typical of farm work.
On industrial power units
For stationary hydraulic systems driven by electric motors or diesel engines, the wide speed range allows the pump to be matched to the motor's operating RPM without needing a gearbox change.
How to Choose
The choice between the CBG1032 and the CBG1045 is driven by the machine's required hydraulic speed.
If your equipment is a standard-duty loader where the operator does not need rapid bucket movement, the CBG1032 (32 mL/r) is the appropriate choice. It provides sufficient flow without placing unnecessary load on the engine.
If your machine is a larger loader or an excavator that needs to complete many loading cycles per hour, the CBG1045 (45 mL/r) gives you the extra flow to keep the cycle time short.
Both pumps fit the same mounting flange and hose pattern, so you can test both during development without changing the bracket design.

Manufacturing and Quality Checks

Production background
We have been producing hydraulic pumps and valves for mobile machinery since 1988. The CBG series gear pump is manufactured in a facility equipped with CNC machining centers for the cast iron bodies and gear hobbing equipment for the gear sets. The production process is set up to manage both the raw casting and the final machining.
Pre-assembly inspection
Before machining, each cast iron body is inspected for cracks or porosity that could cause leaks under pressure. The gear sets are checked for tooth profile accuracy. The shaft keyways are cut to the specified tolerance so that the steel key fits tightly without needing to be filed down.
Final bench test
Every pump is run on a hydraulic test bench before shipment. We test it at the rated speed and pressure and confirm that the volumetric efficiency meets the ≥90% standard. We also check the shaft seal and the flange faces for external leakage. If a pump shows abnormal noise or leakage during this test, it is set aside for rework.
Customization
If your machine requires a non-standard port orientation or a different shaft length, we can discuss a custom production run. Contact our engineering team with your specification, and we can evaluate the feasibility.
FAQ
Q: What is the recommended oil viscosity for this pump?
A: We recommend mineral-based hydraulic oil with a viscosity of 20 to 43 cSt at operating temperature. Standard oils like ISO VG 32 or ISO VG 46 are usually the correct choices for most climates. If you are operating in extremely cold conditions, you may consider a lower viscosity grade, but it should not fall below 12 cSt to maintain good lubrication.
Q: Does this pump require a specific rotation direction?
A: Yes. The pump is available in both clockwise (right-hand) and counter-clockwise (left-hand) rotation. You need to verify your engine's rotation direction before ordering. Installing the pump on the wrong rotation will cause it to draw fluid from the wrong port and fail to prime.
Q: Can this pump handle pressures above 20 MPa?
A: The maximum peak pressure is 20 MPa. We do not recommend running the pump continuously above the rated 16 MPa pressure. If your system requires higher pressure, the pump's internal bearings and shaft seals may be subject to accelerated wear.
Q: What is the typical lifespan of this pump before a rebuild is needed?
A: With proper maintenance-clean oil and controlled operating temperatures-the pump's internal clearances remain stable over a long service life. The earliest sign of wear is usually a gradual decrease in lift speed or a slight increase in operating noise.
Q: Can I install this pump upside down?
A: Yes, the pump can be mounted in any orientation, provided that the inlet port is positioned below the hydraulic fluid level in the tank or is adequately flooded. This prevents air from being drawn into the pump, which would cause cavitation and damage the gears.
