Product Overview

The BM2 is a gerotor motor. Feed it oil under pressure, and the shaft turns. Inside, a spool valve sends oil to the gerotor set. The gerotor set rotates. The shaft follows.

Distribution accuracy is better than older designs. Less oil slips past the internal seals. More of the flow becomes useful torque. Less becomes heat.

The BM2 runs at higher pressures than the BM1. Continuous pressure is 14 MPa. That is enough for tougher jobs-heavier loads, harder cycles.

Reversing is simple. Swap the inlet and outlet lines. The motor spins the other way. No extra valving needed.

Q: How do I choose between BM1 and BM2?

A: BM1 is for lighter duty. BM2 handles higher pressure and tougher jobs. If your system runs above 12 MPa continuous, go with BM2. If you need more torque from the same displacement, BM2 gives you better efficiency.

Q: Can the BM2 run at maximum pressure and maximum speed at the same time?

A: No. The motor should not operate at both extremes simultaneously. This is a standard limitation for hydraulic motors. Keep one parameter below max when the other is at max.

Q: What happens if I run the motor above the maximum speed?

A: The motor may cavitate. Internal parts may wear faster. Seals may fail. The motor will not last as long. Stay within the speed limits in the specification table.

Q: What happens if I run the motor above the maximum pressure?

A: The motor may leak internally. Seals may blow. The housing may crack. Do not exceed the pressure rating for your displacement.

Q: What is the standard rotation direction?

A: Standard is clockwise when port A is pressurized (viewed from the shaft end). To reverse, simply reverse the oil flow. The motor operates equally well in both directions.

Q: Do I need to run-in the motor before full-load operation?

A: Yes. Run the motor at 40% of maximum working pressure for 1 hour before full-load operation. This ensures proper break-in and extends service life.
