Product Definition & Working Principle
The WE10 series hydraulic solenoid directional valve is a direct-acting, solenoid-operated directional valve. You use it to start, stop, or reverse a hydraulic cylinder or motor. It fits systems up to 35 MPa. The mounting pattern follows ISO 4401 (also DIN 24340 Form A and CETOP-RP 121H), so if you already have a manifold cut for a Rexroth 4WE10 or Yuken DSG-01, this bolts right on.
Inside, it's a spool held centered by two springs. Energize the solenoid on one end, the spool shifts, and oil routes from P to either A or B (the opposite port opens to T). Kill the power, the springs push it back to center. There's also a manual override pin-push it with a tool or your thumb, and the spool moves the same as if the solenoid were on. Handy for commissioning or if a coil fails and you need to get the machine into a safe position.
Core Structural Components
| Component | Function |
|---|---|
| Valve Body | High-strength casting with precision internal passages |
| Spool | Precision-ground component with controlled clearance |
| Return Springs | Symmetrically arranged, providing reliable centering force |
| Wet-Pin Solenoids | Armature operates in oil; coils replaceable without body removal |
| Manual Override | Allows manual spool shifting for emergency or commissioning |
Design Philosophy
The WE10 series hydraulic solenoid directional valve embodies a compact, modular design focused on serviceability. The plug-in coil design allows replacement without disturbing hydraulic connections. The standardized mounting footprint ensures drop-in compatibility with existing manifold systems - reducing downtime and simplifying spare parts management.
What Makes It Different
The solenoids handle continuous cycling
Dry solenoids get hot. The wet-pin design keeps the armature bathed in oil, so heat gets carried away. We've seen these run all shift, hundreds of cycles an hour, without cooking the coil. When a coil does eventually go, you swap it from the outside. No oil loss, no pipe disconnection, about five minutes of work.
Flow is decent for the size
120 L/min is enough for most medium-sized actuators. Think 80-100mm bore cylinders at normal speeds. The internal passages are cast-in, not drilled, so the flow path has fewer sharp turns. Lower pressure drop means less heat dumped into the tank, which matters if your system runs continuously.
Manual override-backup when you need it
If the electrical side drops out, the manual pin lets you shift the spool. You won't get the same cycle rate as solenoids, but it's enough to move a boom out of the way or retract a press slide for tool access. We include it as standard. Some customers never use it; others spec it as a requirement.

Installing & Looking After It
Getting it mounted right
Bolt it to an ISO 4401 subplate. The port labels are cast into the body: P (pressure in), A and B (to your actuator), T (return to tank). Don't swap P and T-the valve won't shift properly, and you could blow the solenoid tube seals.
Things we see done wrong:
Screws too tight: warps the body, spool binds. Use a torque wrench. If you don't have the spec, contact us.
Old O-rings: they flatten, they harden, they leak. Replace them every time you pull the valve.
Dirty oil: the spool-to-bore clearance is tight. Particles wedge in there and the valve sticks. Clean oil, clean filters-that's the biggest thing you can do to make it last.
First power-up
Flush the lines before you bolt the valve on. Debris from pipe installation is the #1 killer.
Push the manual pin by hand-feel the spool move smoothly.
Click the solenoids with the power off first, just to confirm wiring.
Ramp pressure up slowly. Watch the T-port and the solenoid tubes for weeping.
Routine care
Check the coil connectors-they vibrate loose over time.
Look at the body, especially around the O-rings, for any wetness.
Change your return filter at the manufacturer's interval. We see valves last three times longer in systems that keep oil clean.
If the machine sits for months, cycle the spool manually a few times before startup. Stiction happens.
Support
If you're designing a new manifold and aren't sure about the layout, we'll review your schematic. Free, usually within a day. We'd rather catch a mistake in CAD than get a call from a site with a machine down.

FAQ
Q: Is the WE10 series interchangeable with Rexroth or Yuken valves?
A: The WE10 features a standard ISO 4401-05 subplate mounting, sharing identical port positions and bolt patterns with Rexroth 4WE10 and Yuken DSG-01. You can directly replace these models without modifying your existing manifold block. This interchangeability makes it an ideal drop-in alternative for retrofit projects and replacement inventory.
Q: Can a solenoid coil be replaced without removing the valve body?
A: Yes. The wet-pin solenoid features a detachable, plug-in coil design. Simply loosen the retaining nut, slide out the old coil, and insert the new one - no valve body removal required. This means no oil drainage, no piping disconnection, and minimal production downtime. Replacement can be completed in minutes by on-site maintenance staff.
Q: Which hydraulic fluids are compatible? Can seals be customized?
A: Standard seals suit mineral oils (HL, HLP) and most conventional fluids. For phosphate esters, water-glycol, or other specialty fluids, we offer alternative seal materials - please specify the fluid type when ordering. Our engineering team can recommend the appropriate seal compound for long-term compatibility.
Q: What is the delivery time?
A: In-stock items: 2–3 business days.
Bulk orders without stock: 10–14 business days.
Custom/OEM orders: Typically 15–25 business days depending on complexity. Confirmed at order placement.
Q: What is the warranty period?
A: 12 months from Bill of Lading date. Coverage includes manufacturing defects affecting performance - body leakage, internal leakage exceeding specifications, and spool sticking caused by manufacturing faults. Damage from improper installation, fluid contamination, or operation beyond rated specifications is not covered.
